Five years ago, WE in the World emerged from 100 Million Healthier Lives to face the depths of a pandemic that exposed every fault line in our systems. Rather than simply reacting, we asked:Â What if the change needed wasn’t in communities experiencing the greatest inequities, but in systems perpetuating adversity and inequality?
We had witnessed a different reality: those closest to problems were often the most generous, creative, and ingenious in seeing the system and changing the system in practical, powerful ways. These changemakers didn’t need to be saved. They needed to be trusted, accompanied, and supported with resources and infrastructure to power their change.
So rather than asking communities to change, we decided to be the change we wanted to see in the world.
We didn’t just imagine different answers—we built a “we” that could change the outcome and the story. Together, in the midst of a pandemic, we restored life, hope, and abundance in over 1,000 communities across the world.
We showed what was possible. Now, we’re inviting you to become part of the “we.”
